  • Hello everyone!!!!

I know I have fallen horribly behind in my xanga posting. I am sorry. But I would like to take this opportunity to write a post about the most wonderful people in our lives: Mothers.

On thursday I got dropped off at WalMart to try to find a mother's Day present ofr both my mother and my grandmother. I know what your thinking: You got there presents at Wal-Mart? But in our town, that's really the best place to get them anything.

I walked through the vards, trying to find something thatwould make them smile, touch their hearts, etc. I was amazed at all of the different categories they had; terms like "Mother (close)" or "Daughter (simply stated)" adorning the tops of the racks. So many cards, showing so many different aspects of the kaleidoscope of female relationships. Cards from husbands to wives, cards to mothers and granmothers, cards from mothers... I even saw one that said "Great- Grandma (from great grandchild)". For every relationship, there's is a less-than-$5 way to say whatever you really wanted to, from the absurd to the adorable to the almost-obscene.

But really, no card could ever say ow awesome all of our moms really are. So this Mother's Day, spend some time with the coolest person you will ever meet: your mom.

  • Yesterday we had our serv-a-thon service project. We moved furnitutre and painted a wall. Now I am very sore, but it was lots of fun. Here are some pictures from the day.

Us hanging out before we started working. That's my knee. I'm the one laying down.

    The room we painted.

About half way through the day we started going crazy and decided to have piggy-back carrying contests...

The whole crew and the wall we painted.. sorry it's so blurry.

A better picture of the mural.

Lots of fun... we also had our first baseball game of the season... a little fun, but so boring. And we lost, 7-8.

    Such is life.

    Talk to you later,

  • So, I got back from Governor's Cup in Louisville.

Governor's Cup is the State-wide academic competition in the state of Kentucky.

To find out more, go to http://kaac.com .

It was lots of fun. I didn't compete. But I still had a good time.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Drake (the regional Composition champion) and me. And yes, he does wear bifocals. He has since he was three.

Our chaperones: Emom (Drake's Grandma) and Ms. Clapp (our English teacher/academic team coach).

Some random but pretty cool wall art at Joe's Crab shack in Louisville.

All-in-all, fun stuff. This wekend I have AIM orientation (Ambassadors in Mission) at Camp Crestwwod and then I am going to Quincy, Illinois. (home of some of the Amsler/Collins clan).

That's about it for now in my life. We finished taking SATs today. All the language stuff was fun. The math was hard, because I ended up doing it very last because I missed Monday, so my concentration was off. Hopefully we will just watch movies tomorrow....

Well, my love to you all!
